APPLICABLE LEGISLATION

The V16 beacon (Royal Decree 1030/2022, of December 20) replaces triangles in case of vehicle immobilization on the road, allowing signaling in breakdown or accident situations without leaving the vehicle, avoiding personal risks.
As of January 1, 2026, triangles may no longer be used, and this type of light-emitting connected device will be the only legal means for signaling immobilized vehicles. It will be mandatory for cars, mixed-use vehicles, trucks, and buses.
